The series as a whole is primarily composed of role-playing video games, but also includes massively multiplayer online role-playing games, third-person shooters, tower defense games, and tactical role-playing games. Most of the games have been re-released for several different platforms, many of which have been included in bundled releases. Each game in the main series takes place in a different fictional universe rather than serving as direct sequels to prior games, although some games have received sequels, or prequels, set in the same universe. Sequels, prequels, spin-offs, and related video games have been published, as well as numerous installments in other media forms.
Fifteen games have been released as part of the main (numbered) series. The first installment in the series, the eponymous Final Fantasy, premiered in Japan in 1987, and Final Fantasy games have been released almost every single year since. I've fixed up the intro text and character introductions, but I still need to check text alignment on a large number of minor captions and compare it to the actual GBA release, which is slow thanks for testing this. On another note, I've been working on dumping and fixing up the GBA dialogue script for insertion alongside the font, to make text in dialogue boxes align nicely. I will update the patch when I have time, and probably discontinue the alt version. In reality, the GBA font doesn't look like that.įurthermore, the spacing in the ellipsis (".") is too narrow, and there's a character missing - the em dash. I've discovered a few errors in the VWF font I drew particularly the lowercase letters "j", "y", "p" and "q" are one pixel too low, resulting in the look that made me think an alt version was needed.
